Indigo Airline Check-in Procedure
How do we check in at the airport?
Passengers can check in at counters located at airports. Passengers must keep in mind the following rules related to airport check-ins:
Domestic Travel
1. Check-in counters close 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
2. Boarding gates close 25 minutes prior to departure at all airports. Passengers must be present at the boarding gate no later than the time specified by IndiGo when they check in or any subsequent announcements made at the airport.
Indigo airline check-in:
Indigo Airlines allows travelers to select seats online and print the boarding pass instantly from any location. The online check-in process begins 48 hours before and goes up to 2 hours prior to the flight’s departure. The online facility cannot be availed by unaccompanied minors and passengers traveling by wheelchair.
IndiGo recommends that Customers report for Check-in at least 2 hours prior to the departure of the scheduled flight. Passenger journeys will be smoother if they allow themselves ample time to comply with the Check-in timelines. IndiGo reserves the right to cancel a Customer’s reservation if he/she does not comply with the check-in timelines.
To check in at the airport, you typically need to follow these steps:
1. Arrive at the Airport: Make sure you arrive at the airport with sufficient time before your flight. The recommended time may vary depending on the airline and destination, but it's generally advised to arrive at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights.
2. Prepare Required Documents: Have your travel documents ready, including your passport (for international travel) or identification card (for domestic travel), flight reservation details, and any necessary visas or travel permits.
3. Join the Queue: Stand in the queue at the check-in counter designated for your flight or airline. The queues are typically organized based on flight numbers or destinations.
4. Present Identification and Reservation Details: When it's your turn, approach the check-in counter and present your identification document (e.g., passport) and flight reservation details to the airline staff. They will verify your information and confirm your booking.
5. Check-In Your Baggage: If you have checked baggage, you'll be asked to place it on the baggage scale for weighing and tagging.
6. Receive Boarding Pass: This pass includes your seat assignment, departure gate, and other flight details. If you prefer, some airlines also offer mobile boarding passes that can be displayed on your smartphone.
7. Clear Security and Immigration: This typically involves placing your carry-on items and personal belongings through the X-ray machine and walking through a metal detector or body scanner. After security, you may need to go through immigration control, depending on your destination.
